Jerry Rappaport has been practicing law for more than 30 years having small firms in that have concentrated on business, commercial and real estate litigation and transactions. He has also spent time as an entrepreneur, serving as president of a 400 employee company that generated more than $30 million annually in the entertainment licensing and garment manufacturing.

Jerry's transactional experience includes representing clients in the negotiation and drafting of a wide range of business agreements. These have included intellectual property licensing of brands, images, software, and marks, strategic partnering, business transfer, and financing agreements. Jerry has also represented clients in a variety of real estate transactions including acquisition, financing and workout agreements.

His litigation experience has included both state and federal trials and appeals in a wide range of business, employment and real estate matters. These have included disputes involving such diverse matters as performance under the terms of a contract for custom developed financial management software developed for Freddi Mac to merchandising rights to the name and images of the late Tupac Shakur. Jerry has also represented clients in various trade secret, unfair competition and employment termination and discrimination disputes. In 2006, his work earned him the distinction as a Super Lawyer in a survey conducted by
Los Angeles Magazine.

Jerry now devotes a significant portion of his time to dispute resolution. Having been impressed as a litigator with the efficiency of the mediation process in resolving disputes, he obtained formal training in dispute resolution at UCLA and Pepperdine. He has now employed that training and experience to mediate a wide variety of disputes, but focuses on business, employment, and real estate matters.

Jerry has also been a member of the Board of a Savings and Loan, and served as president of the Los Angeles County Regional Center, a state chartered non-profit corporation established for the administration of State of California funds for the developmentally disabled.
