Attorney Lisa Montoni Garvin joined the Firm as an associate in April 2007. Prior to becoming an attorney, Lisa was a human resources professional for a national aluminum manufacturer.
She received her law degree from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and graduated cum laude from John Carroll University with a B.S. in Psychology.
Lisa focuses her practice on advising individuals and families in the areas of estate and special needs planning, Medicaid planning, estate and trust administration (including contested matters), and guardianship of young and elder adults. She has written articles regarding Ohio’s Medicaid Estate Recovery program, Ohio Medicaid Trusts, guardianship of older persons, and the legal aspects of aging published in the Probate Law Journal of Ohio, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Journal, the American Bar Association’s GPSolo magazine, and the Encyclopedia of Aging and Public Health. Lisa is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and of the Cleveland Metropolitan, Lake County, and Ohio State Bar Associations. Her community activities include serving on the Board of Directors for Rising Star Learning Center in Mentor, Ohio, on the Board of Trustees for the Family Planning Association of Northeastern Ohio, and on the Local Board of Directors for Breckenridge Village Continuing Care Retirement Community in Willoughby, Ohio.
Lisa lives in Lake County and works in the Cleveland office.
