Jennifer Rabb is a tax and estate planning attorney. She focuses on delivering strategic and cost-effective tax advice to clients of all sizes, ranging from individuals and small businesses to multinational and publicly traded companies. She joined Blazier, Christensen, Bigelow & Virr, PC in 2012.
Ms. Rabb's experience in federal income tax includes business formation, the purchase and sale of business interests and assets, and compensation of owners and key employees. She also advises charitable, political and other non-profit organizations on obtaining and maintaining federal tax-exempt status. Ms. Rabb works closely with John Blazier and Tom Virr to create and implement tax-efficient estate plans for the firm's clients.
In state and local taxation, Ms. Rabb offers her clients a notable depth of knowledge and experience gained through government service and private practice. She interned in the Texas House of Representatives while earning a bachelor's degree in government and worked as a legislative aide in the Texas Senate during law school. Later, she served as Tax Policy Director for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. In private law practice, Ms. Rabb draws on this experience to chart a strategic course in addressing problems in tax policy and defending taxpayers audited by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. She enjoys supporting the work of legislators and government relations advisors through drafting tax legislation and policy papers and serving as a resource for information on tax law.
A San Antonio native, Ms. Rabb attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received a B.A. in Government in 1992. She earned a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1995 and an LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1996. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1996. A frequent speaker on taxation and business, Ms. Rabb is a past chair of the Business, Corporate & Taxation Section of the Austin Bar Association and a member of the Austin Tax Study Group. She enjoys mentoring younger attorneys and collaborating with other moms in balancing career and family. Ms. Rabb lives with her husband and two children on the north shore of Lake Travis, where they enjoy wide open spaces and native Texas landscapes with their two energetic dogs.
