Deborah M. Garskof, member of the firm, focuses her practice in the areas of appellate practice, commercial law, construction law, employment law, and real estate. Ms. Garskof has over 10 years of diverse legal experience.
Ms. Garskof earned her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, cum laude, in 1994 and her B.A. degree from the University of Connecticut Honor's College, summa cum laude, in 1991 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Garskof was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1995, Connecticut Bar in 1997, and New York Bar in 2000. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, and U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut.
Prior to coming to the firm, Ms. Garskof was a trial attorney with the Federal Labor Relations Authority where she practiced in the areas of labor and employment law and investigated and prosecuted unfair labor practices under the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute. In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Ms. Garskof was one of the firm's multiple lawyers who dedicated substantial time to representing World Trade Center victims and their families. As a result, she and the firm recovered millions of dollars for these pro-bono clients.
Ms. Garskof has lectured on the topic of mechanic's lien law and has been a panelist for the Westport Parent-Teacher's Association discussing the legal implications of a proposed ordinance directed at policing underage drinking. Ms. Garskof is co-author of Asset Assignment from the FDIC, Debt Collection Strategies, Connecticut Lawyer,
Ms. Garskof is a member of the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, Employment Law Section, and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
