Tom DeLawrence is an Associate in the firm's Environmental and Natural Resources Section. His practice encompasses a wide range of federal and state environmental matters and general environmental litigation matters. Tom represents developers, industrial clients, utilities, and business coalitions in the following areas:
1) Environmental Permitting & Compliance (advising clients with respect to obligations under the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act the Comprehensive Environmental, Response, Compensation & Liability Act, and other environmental laws);
2) Environmental Litigation (representing clients before state and federal courts and administrative proceedings); and
3) Administrative Regulation (representing clients before state and federal agencies, including the preparation of comments in response to the recent regulatory reforms promulgated pursuant to the Clean Water Act).
Prior to joining Balch & Bingham, LLP, Tom worked for another civil defense firm in Birmingham, Alabama handling product liability and other general litigation matters. In addition, prior to attending law school, Tom worked at University of Alabama Birmingham's Liver Center conducting a number of research projects and publishing significant findings in various medical journals.
