Robert Galvin is a partner in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2011.
Practice
Mr. Galvin is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on intellectual property litigation across a range of industries with a particular emphasis on representing innovative companies in the life sciences and software industries. He has tried patent cases in various jurisdictions across the country. Additionally, he has substantial experience advising clients regarding licensing, antitrust and unfair competition issues.

Past Experience
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Galvin was a partner with Howrey LLP, where he focused on intellectual property litigation. Before practicing at Howrey, Mr. Galvin was part of a team that broke from Cooley LLP to form Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder LLP in 1998, where he practiced for the next decade. While at Day Casebeer, Mr. Galvin represented both major public companies and smaller private organizations in patent litigation disputes, and had significant trial experience in some of Day Casebeer’s most high-profile cases for some of its most noteworthy clients.
After law school Mr. Galvin was a law clerk for the Honorable Stephen S. Trott of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Galvin is a member of the California Bar Association.
