Mike works for the defendant in personal injury, premises liability and no-fault cases and is experienced in the areas of property, environmental and real estate law. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1976 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree and was a Michigan Regents Alumni Scholar. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1983, and later to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
He has taught classes for State Farm Fire & Casualty Company (Premises Liability Theories - Defenses and New Developments), seminars at the University of Michigan (Land Use Policy - Growth Management), and for the Oakland County Bar Association (Insurance Law Seminar Series). In addition, Mike has led no fault law update seminars and premise law seminars since 1990.
Mike is former mayor pro tempore (1989 - 1991) and member of the City of Lake Angelus City Council (1987 - 1991), also serving as chairman of the Lake Angelus Committee on Environmental Affairs. He was a SEMCOG delegate from 1989 to 1991, and Oakland County Municipal Solid Waste Board delegate from 1988 to 1990. Additionally, he served on the Oakland County Judicial Candidate Review Committee from 1996 to 1998.
