A graduate of the Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia, Freeman began working as a paralegal for Gibson Dean II, where she specialized in civil litigation such as personal injury, divorce, wills, probate, condemnations, and zonings at both the state and appellate levels.
Freeman then returned to school in order to obtain her juris doctor. She is a 2005 graduate of John Marshall Law School, where she attended classes in the evening while still working full-time. Freeman finished third in the evening class and sixth in the overall graduating class of 2005.
Upon passing the Bar in June 2006, Freeman began practicing family law as a solo practitioner in her own firm before joining C. David Joyner, Esq. as an associate, focusing on criminal and civil practice with a heavy emphasis on research and brief writing on the trial and appellate court level.
