I am attorney Diane Polan, and I have been practicing law in New Haven for 28 years. I am a graduate of Yale University (B.A. magna cum laude, 1973) and Yale Law School (J.D. 1980). In practice since 1980, I focus my practice on stated federal criminal cases. I handle all criminal cases from murders to motor vehicles. I also handle police misconduct and civil rights litigation.
I am admitted to practice in all of the Connecticut trial and appellate courts. I am a member of the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to my private practice of law, I have taught trial practice at the Yale Law School. I am also the vice president of the Board of Directors of the New Haven Legal Assistance Association and, in 2000, I received a Pro Bono award from the Connecticut Bar Association.
