Judge Foran served as attorney for Westwood School District for eight years until 1972, when he ran for 20th District Court Judge (Dearborn Heights) and won.
Judge Foran remained on the bench for the next thirty-four years without opposition. During his distinguished judicial career, Judge Foran presided over more than 8,500 personal injury cases ensuring that victims of negligence had their day in Court.
He has served as a visiting judge in both Circuit Court and Recorders Court. He also performs mediation services and is a qualified case evaluation mediator.
A Korean War Veteran, Leo Foran is also a gifted athlete who is a member of the Dearborn Sports Hall of Fame, the Leo Salakin Boxing Hall of Fame and a junior College Basketball All American.
