Joseph P. Cox is a partner with Stein Shostak Shostak Pollack & O’Hara, and he joined the law firm in 1980, after nine years of experience with the U.S. Customs Service. Mr. Cox is a member of the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia Bar. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His prior positions include Customs Air Security Officer and Customs Inspector, as well as a staff attorney in the Penalties Branch and General Classification Branch of the Office of Regulations and Rulings at U.S. Customs Headquarters, Washington, D.C. and the Office of Regional Counsel, Los Angeles. Mr. Cox served as Chair of the Customs Law Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association(1984-85 and 1992-93), and the Vice-Chair of the Customs and Tariff Committee of the American Bar Association from 1985-88. He served as President of the Foreign Trade Association of Southern California in 2007. He received a B.A. from U.C.L.A. and a J.D. from the University of San Diego.
