Attorney Anna I. Cortez was born in Red Wing, MN and grew up on her family's dairy farm in western Wisconsin. After graduating from Ellsworth High School, Anna moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to complete her bachelor's degree in Art Therapy at Mount Mary College. Anna worked as the Assistant Residence Hall Director at Mount Mary College while completing her master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She then worked as an Employee Assistance Program Counselor in Milwaukee before relocating to the Twin Cities to work for the State of Minnesota as a Rehabilitation Counselor, Sr. During that time she attended William Mitchell College of Law's evening program and earned her Law Degree. The focus of Anna's career has always been working with injured workers and people with disabilities. She is dedicated to advocating for her clients' right to receive their disability benefits. In her time away from the office, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, biking, downhill skiing, making jewelry, drawing and painting.
