John D. Patten is a welcome addition to the team at Dansker & Aspromonte.
Mr. Patten is a well known and highly regarded criminal defense lawyer with over 42 years of experience.
After leaving the Navy in 1966 as a Lieutenant, Mr. Patten attended Dickinson School of Law graduating with a JD in 1969. He then walked into the District Attorney Frank Hogan's office without an appointment and walked out with a job as an Assistant District Attorney. Four years later he left to go into private practice.
He has been Special Counsel to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, Counsel to the New York State Legislative Oversight Committee and Counsel to the Sergeants Benevolent Association.
Over the years, Mr. Patten has defended many law enforcement officers in very high profile cases most notably: Sean Carroll in the Diallo shooting, Michael Bellomo in the Louima case and Richard Kern in the Mineo subway case and GOT THEM ALL ACQUITTED!!
Mr. Patten has recently been profiled in the New York Times (January 2010) and is considered a worthy adversary by those who have faced him in court.
