Born in 1942 in New Iberia, Louisiana, Jerry Alan Oubre graduated from LSU Law School in January 1967. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and selected to the Moot Court Board of student advisors. He was a member and director of the New Iberia Jaycees and a member of the New Iberia Optimist Club. He is a member of the Iberia Parish Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel from 1991-93. He completed mediator training in 1996. He is a past president of the Iberia Parish Bar Association and President of the Teche Chapter of Inns of Court 2011-2012.
