In addition to operating her own practice in Southwest Michigan, Kristi A. Estrada works with Haveman Law clients throughout the greater Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas. Ms. Estrada has been recognized for her scholarly work in the areas of Bankruptcy, Property and Real Estate, Taxation of Business Entities, Small Business Planning and Veterans Disability Law. Perhaps most notably, Ms. Estrada was honored when her publication, Welcome Home:  Our Nation’s Shameful History of Caring for Combat Veterans and How Expanding Presumptions for Service Connection Can Help, 29 T.M. L. Rev. 113 (2009) was selected by the American Society of Legal Writers to compete for the Scribes Law Review Award.

Before graduating Cum Laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Ms. Estrada gained a wealth of personal experience working as a financial advisor and project developer in Southwest Michigan.  She has been in the business of helping others achieve their goals for nearly a decade and is dedicated to putting her experience to work for her clients.  Ms. Estrada has worked with the Sixty Plus Elderlaw Clinic in Lansing, Michigan, the Kent County Legal Assistance Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan and had the distinct honor of clerking for the Honorable Scott W. Dales in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Ms. Estrada also does estate planning and probate work and is certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs to represent veterans in their claims for disability compensation. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and is a member in good standing of the Michigan Bar.
