Ellsworth, Laura E.

Elizabeth M. Ellis serves as Of Counsel for Clapp Ferrucci, focusing primarily on business litigation. Ms. Ellis earned her juris doctorate, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, in 2008, graduating second in her class.

During law school Ms. Ellis served on the executive board of the Indiana Law Review as the Symposium Editor. In this role, she organized a symposium entitled, "The Fair Housing Act After 40 Years: Continuing the Mission to Eliminate Housing Discrimination and Segregation." Ms. Ellis' law review note entitled, "Garcetti v. Ceballos: Public Employees Left to Decide 'Your Conscience or Your Job'" was published in Volume 41 of the Indiana Law Review. In addition, she is a member of the Order of the Barristers. During law school she also served as a legal intern for the Honorable Larry J. McKinney during his tenure as Chief Judge of the United States District Court – Southern District of Indiana.

Ms. Ellis is originally from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. When pursuing her undergraduate degree, she attended West Chester University in Pennsylvania before transferring to Indiana University, Bloomington. She earned a dual major in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1998.

Prior to joining Clapp Ferrucci, Ms. Ellis was an associate in the labor and employment group at Ice Miller LLP. Prior to attending law school she worked as a corporate paralegal for over five years at Emmis Communications Corporation. While at Emmis, Ms. Ellis focused on management of intellectual property assets, including, prosecuting federal and state trademark applications and renewals, and handling infringement and licensing matters.

Ms. Ellis is actively involved in her community. Prior to joining Clapp Ferrucci, she served as a volunteer public benefits attorney for Indiana Legal Services, Inc. Additionally, over the years she has served in various capacities at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers, Indiana, including, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher and Volunteer, Contemporary and Chancel Choir Member, Handbell Choir Member, Children's Handbell Choir Leader, Wheeler Mission Ministries Volunteer Coordinator, Young Adults Study Group Leader, and Faith, Hope & Love Project Coordinator. Most recently, Ms. Ellis organized a meal packing project in partnership with Kids Against Hunger to fund and prepare over 26,000 meals to feed the hungry both locally and abroad. Ms. Ellis is also involved in the Hamilton County Great Banquet.

Ms. Ellis is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Ms. Ellis lives in Fishers, Indiana, with her husband and two daughters.
