Ellis, Van W.

Luke Ellis received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Boalt Hall in 1975. He has tried numerous jury and court cases in both state and federal court, and recently served a prominent role on Plaintiffs' Executive Committee in the $1.05 billion national settlement of the Sulzer hip defective products litigation.

Luke has served as Vice President of the California Trial Lawyers Association, and has been an officer (Vice-President, Financial Secretary) of Consumer Attorneys of California, an organization that fights for the rights of injured people under the law. He has chaired numerous conventions for Consumer Attorneys of California, and has lectured and written widely in the law of evidence, presentation of demonstrative evidence, and trial technique. Luke is a consultant to one of the leading treatises on evidence and courtroom trial strategy, California Trial Objections, published by the California Continuing Education of the Bar. He joined the firm in 1976.
