Ms. O'Neill is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member the Environmental and Toxic Torts, Professional Liability, Construction Litigation, Insurance Fraud and Healthcare Practice Groups.
Kathy O'Neill has thirty years’ experience representing chemical companies, product manufacturers, contractors, and utility companies in toxic tort personal injury and property damage claims. As a significant part of her practice, Kathy has represented companies in litigation, including long-term exposures and medical monitoring claims.
Kathy’s practice also includes representation of pharmaceutical companies in personal injury and mass tort claims. She has served as the state liaison counsel for hospitals in mass tort personal injury claims involving allegedly defective products. She also has represented contractors and owners in litigation matters, including claims involving property value due to alleged introduction of toxic substances.
Kathy also represents insurance brokers in litigation involving professional negligence and insurance fraud, and has represented brokers in litigation involving viatical settlements, professional employer organizations (PEOs) and alleged health insurance fraud, and in matters regarding regulatory compliance.
Kathy defends architects and physicians in professional liability litigation.
Ms. O’Neill received her B.S. in 1975 from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D., cum laude, in 1980 from Temple University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in state courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, in federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ms. O’Neill has served on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, and served as its representative on the Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor’s Pro Bono Task Force. Ms. O’Neill has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
