ALBERT S. ROBINSON, partner in the firm, has over 35 years experience in the two major areas of his practice, trust and estate planning and administration, and municipal law. He serves as private trustee to clients with a broad range of family issues. He has served as Town Counsel of the Town of Wellesley since 1977, and from time to time as special counsel assisting other communities on discreet issues, especially affecting regulatory efforts over land use, including private development and issues over zoning authority and compliance.
Mr. Robinson has extensive experience in trial and appellate representation. On behalf of the Town of Wellesley he has achieved significant rulings by the Supreme Judicial Court confirming for state-wide application a town's home rule authority and its interest in preserving when possible affordable housing in perpetuity, among other notable litigation results.
Rated AV (highest rating) by Martindale-Hubbell for many years, Mr. Robinson is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, and before the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association. He graduated from Fenn School, St. George's School, the University of Pennsylvania (A.B., 1964) and from Boston University Law School (J.D., 1969, cum laude). Before joining the firm's predecessor in 1973 he was a member of the 50 lawyer law department of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, overseeing claims litigation being managed by law firms throughout the country. Born in Wellesley, he has 3 grown children and currently lives in Boston.
