Dudley, James H.

Jonathan R. Duerst is a fifth generation Oregonian who was born and raised in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Oregon State University in 1975, and his Law Degree from the University of Oregon in 1979. Jon has practiced law in Oregon as a successful trial lawyer for over 30 years.

Jon began his law career as a prosecutor in the Coos County, Oregon District Attorney’s Office. After one year of prosecuting misdemeanor cases, Jon was promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney, where he prosecuted felony offenses for the next 9 years. Jon also was the administrator of the Coos County District Attorney Family Support Office.

Jon entered private practice in 1989 and began handling family law cases. Jon and his family moved to Bend in 1991, and he established his own law firm in 1993. He has represented clients throughout Central and Eastern Oregon in family cases since 1991.
