Mr. Glassberg has maintained a general practice of law in Northeastern Pennsylvania for over thirty-five years, concentrating his practice in the areas of worker' compensation, real estate, business formations and transactions, and estate planning and administration. Mr. Glassberg's experience includes being an assistant attorney general for both the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and Pennsylvania Bureau of Consumer Protection. He has always been a principal in any law practice in which he has been affiliated and has never represented any insurance companies or carriers.
Mr. Glassberg has substantial experience in all types of workers' compensation cases and areas of practice, having represented workers' compensation claimants from the inception of his legal career. He has successfully represented claimants in obtaining weekly compensation and medical benefits before workers' compensation judges in Luzerne, Schuykill, Carbon and Columbia counties, and in defending against insurance companies' attempts to terminate, suspend or modify benefits. He exclusively represents claimants, not insurance companies.
Mr. Glassberg has also held numerous governmental solicitorships, including Solicitor for the Hazleton Redevelopment Authority, Solicitor for the Housing Authority of the City of Hazleton, Solicitor for the Hazleton Township Zoning Board of Appeals, Solicitor for the Hazleton Township Planning Commission, and Solicitor for the Hazleton Area School District, all of which provides the principal with extensive exposure to working with and understanding government laws and the implementing rule and regulations.
Mr. Glassberg was Solicitor for the Hazleton Area School District during a sixty million dollar building project, including construction of the new Hazleton Area High School, various elementary and middle schools and renovations to various schools, the legal aspects of which included land acquisition, bond issues, review of construction and architectural documents and resulting construction litigation. As Solicitor Mr. Glassberg also had prime responsibility for labor related matters, including negotiation of labor contracts and litigating labor grievance procedures and disputes. As Solicitor for the Hazleton Redevelopment Authority, Mr. Glassberg conducted major eminent domain proceedings and has been involved with substantial land development projects.
As Solicitor for the Housing Authority of the City of Hazleton, Mr. Glassberg was responsible for all legal matters, including issues concerning labor laws, zoning, bidding requirements, building or inspection of property; counsel on meeting procedures and minutes; legal advice to the executive director; examination and review of contracts and contract payments; preparation of resolutions or other needed legal documents; review and interpretation of federal, state and local laws, ordinances or rules; advice on internal hearings; representation at eviction proceedings; review of all Housing Authority policies and procedures involving legal issues and all legal correspondence required by the Housing Authority.
