Katy D. Reeder grew up in mid-Missouri in the small town of Ashland. She received her undergraduate education at the University of Missouri in Columbia where she majored in Social Work. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law with an emphasis in Family Law. During law school, Katy was Rule 13 certified and participated in the Child and Family Services Clinic, representing clients in paternity and guardianship actions. She also clerked for Commissioners Molly Merrigan, Geoffrey Allen, and Martina Peterson of the Jackson County Family Court, interned for the legal department at a domestic violence women's shelter, and was a member of the writing staff for all three journals published by the law school. Prior to attending law school, Katy worked for the Boone County Children's Division, serving families with children in foster care.
Professional Background:
Katy currently focuses primarily on domestic cases including paternity actions, divorces, ex parte and order of protection cases, motions to modify child support, custody and maintenance awards. She is also certified to practice as a Guardian ad Litem. She believes that every case is extremely important and commits herself to aggressively representing each client's unique circumstances.
