Michael Demetriou was admitted to the New York bar in 1953 and has been practicing law ever since. In 1962, he was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court bar. Mr. Demetriou holds a B.S. from the NYU School of Commerce, an M.B.A. from NYU's Graduate School of Business, an (LL.B.) J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, and an LL.M. from Brooklyn Law School.
Mr. Demetriou has served on many Advisory Boards, including the Long Island City Business Development Corp., The American Title Co., Northeast Region, C.W. Post College of Long Island University and NY Institute of Technology. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Queens chapter of the American Red Cross.
An active community member, Mr. Demetriou has lectured AARP members on Estate Planning, and has served on the board as secretary and two-time president of the Queensborough Rotary Club. For over fifty years he has served as legal counsel to many Greek Orthodox churches in the New York region. From 1971 1996 he served as the Village Justice of the Village of Brookville in Nassau County
