Stephanie Gase handles a wide range of litigation in such areas as complex commercial, bankruptcy, product liability, toxic tort, and wills and estates actions in state and federal courts. She has experience handling disputes concerning the federal bankruptcy laws, fraud, breach of contract, internal corporate governance, and the fiduciary obligations of corporate directors.
Bankruptcy
Stephanie's experience includes being a key member of teams that (1) successfully defended holding companies and board members of a bankrupt retail chain against claims by the unsecured creditor's committee for breach of fiduciary duty, piercing the corporate veil and equitable subordination; (2) represented secured lenders in their successful attempt to equitably subordinate the owner of a bankrupt jewelry company and supervised the restructuring of the debtor through a closed bidding process, including review of proofs of claim and assisting with the joint plan of reorganization and the auction of debtor's property; and (3) represented a major bankrupt chemical company in various adversary proceedings seeking to lift the automatic bankruptcy stay.
Product liability/ toxic tort
Stephanie defends a precision equipment manufacturer as part of the Firm's national coordinating counsel role in asbestos product liability cases. She also is part of a team that defends a major appliance manufacturer in New York state and federal courts.
Financial Services
Stephanie has also advised financial services firms in regulatory agency investigations and shareholder actions.
Community Activities
For many years, Stephanie has been a coach for high school students who are participating in moot court and mock trial competitions.
