Mary A. Gambardella is a Partner in the firm's Labor, Employment & Benefits Department in the Stamford office and is a member of the firm's Diversity Committee. Ms. Gambardella is a seasoned litigator with significant experience counseling and representing clients in a broad range of industries, including banking and financial institutions, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, entertainment, marketing and market research, sales and insurance.
She has represented clients in litigation before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and regulatory bodies involving all aspects of labor and employment law, including discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, wage/hour, and employment contract claims; legal malpractice cases; as well as complex commercial and general contract law matters.
Ms. Gambardella also advises management with respect to employee handbooks and policies, severance packages, reductions in force, sensitive employee terminations, management and human resource personnel training, internal investigations, and wage/hour audits and investigations conducted by state or federal departments of labor.
In addition to her formal bar and court admissions, she has litigated in a number of other states, and has been admitted pro hac vice in federal courts in such states, including Indiana, Minnesota, Texas, and Virginia.
Ms. Gambardella is the author of Employment Litigation, part of the Employment Law series published by Law Journal Press. While in law school, she authored Another Victoryfor theConsumer: Hinchiffe v. American Motors Corp., 3 Bridgeport L. Rev. 381 (1982).
Ms. Gambardella has been co-instructor for Federal Publications biannual Employment Law Seminars. A frequent lecturer on employment law topics, Ms. Gambardella recently served on the faculty for Sterling Education Services, where she participated in a presentation entitled Connecticut Wage & Hour Laws and FLSA Update.
Ms. Gambardella is a member of Wiggin and Dana's Diversity Committee and Women's Network Committee.
