Ricardo Pumarejo Jr. was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. After graduating from The University of Texas School of Law, Ricardo spent three years as a briefing attorney for former Senior Justice Linda R. Yañez of the Texas Thirteenth Court of Appeals. While with the Thirteenth Court, Ricardo assisted in the drafting of numerous legal opinions. Ricardo later joined Gonzalez & Associates Law Firm, where he focused on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation. In January 2011, Ricardo joined Kittleman, Thomas and Gonzales, L.L.P., where his practice focuses primarily on civil appeals and litigation support.
Ricardo has served pro bono as appellate counsel for indigent persons. In one recent case, he persuaded an appellate court that an indigent woman was wrongly convicted of a crime and sentenced to twenty years in prison. As a result of the appeal Ricardo filed on the woman's behalf, the appellate court reversed the conviction and ordered that she be acquitted.
