Lauren Evans DeJong counsels individuals with regard to estate planning, estate and trust administration, asset protection and tax and business planning. She works with individuals and their families in areas related to transferring and preserving wealth, business succession, planning for disability, special needs and health care coverage. This includes the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, disability documents, marital property agreements, charitable gifting documents and estate, gift and fiduciary tax returns. Additionally, she represents clients in connection with probate, trust and guardianship proceedings and before the U.S. Tax Court with regard to federal tax matters.
In the corporate arena, Lauren serves closely held businesses and start-ups in the areas of entity formation, organizational and strategic planning, employment and benefits, real estate transactions, and preparation and negotiation of contractual documents.
Lauren obtained her undergraduate degree from Hope College in Michigan, graduating magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha (National Political Science Honor Society) distinction and received her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. She is currently attending Chicago-Kent School of Law in pursuit of a Masters of Law degree in Taxation, where she has earned three Excellence for the Future awards.
