Thomas G. DeVivo, Jr. ( St. John's University School of Law) has been an attorney for over 30 years.He is admitted to practice in the New York Courts and in the Southern and Eastern District Federal Courts.He practices in the areas of Wills, Trust, Estates, Federal and State Taxation and real estate law.Mr. DeVivo handles all aspects of estate and trusts matters including will contests, beneficiary disputes, guardianships and especially estate planning.He also has vast experience resolving taxpayer disputes with the IRS and has conveyed numerous parcels of commercial and residential real property representing buyers and sellers.Mr. DeVivo is an assessment review hearing officer for the New York State Supreme Court.
Prior to joining the law firm, Mr. DeVivo served as the New York State Commissioner of Jurors for Nassau County for over 28 years.He served as three term president of the New York State Association of Commissioners of Jurors and is a lifetime member of its board of trustees.Mr. DeVivo served as a member of the Chief Judge's jury utilization committee and has been recognized for his efforts in reforming eh jury system I the State of New York .Mr. DeVivo is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and served as a member of the Grievance Committee.He also guest lectured at the Nassau Academy of Law.
Mr. DeVivo is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Long Island University where he has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses for over seventeen years.He has been recognized by the University for his service and has received two outstanding faculty awards.
Mr. DeVivo also served on the paralegal advisory board of Nassau Community College .
Mr. DeVivo has been recognized with two national awards and three local awards by the American Association of Blood Centers for his work in promoting and increasing blood donations on Long Island.
