Joe is an associate with the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is a member of the Business Law Section and practices principally in the areas of:
Joe has worked closely with business owners on a variety of transactions, including reorganizations, the formation of limited liability companies and corporations, agreements relating to the buying or selling of a business, contracts, business succession planning and stock redemption. Having been brought up in a family business environment, Joe has been able to combine his legal knowledge with firsthand understanding of the types of issues business owners face.
Joe also has experience in construction law, real estate and banking. He has been involved in the enforcement of judgments and mechanics’ liens, foreclosures, and drafting contracts and lease agreements. He has also handled easement disputes, 1031 exchanges, and the sale and purchase of property.
In banking, Joe’s experience includes state and federal regulatory compliance matters; mergers and acquisitions; relocations; and the establishment of new banks, branches, and loan and deposit production offices.
Joe is admitted to practice in Minnesota state and federal courts, and the North Dakota state court.
Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Joe received his B.A. in business magna cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. He received his law degree cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in his real estate transactions class. Joe joined Briggs in 2007.
