Mr. Feeley devotes the majority of his practice to the areas of workers' compensation, disability pensions for public employees and personal injury law. As a result of his extensive experience in the area of disability pensions and workers' compensation, Mr. Feeley has developed a unique understanding of the implications of simultaneously pursuing a disability pensions and a claim for workers' compensation benefits. Mr. Feeley has litigation experience in the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Office of Administrative Law, the Court of Workers' Compensation, and the Appellate Court. Most recently, he successfully argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court in the case of Russo v. the Board of Trustees for Police And Firemen's Retirement System, 206 NJ 14:17A.3d 801 (2011).
Mr. Feeley graduated cum laude from New Jersey City University and received his law degree from Seton Hall University Law School, in 1997. He is licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the State of New Jersey. Prior to joining the law firm of Feeley & Sayegh, LLC, Mr. Feeley was a partner in the firm of La Rocca, Feeley & Associates from 1999 to 2010. He was also an associate with the firm of Giannone and Currier and most recently of counsel to Fox & Fox in Livingston, New Jersey.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Feeley formerly served as a police officer in the City of Orange Police Department. He was also a certified instructor in the Essex County Police Academy, where he taught self defense for approximately ten years. Although he remained an instructor in the Police Academy until approximately 1990, in 1984, Mr. Feeley left the police department and joined the City of Orange Fire Department, where he remained until 2008, when he retired as a Deputy Chief. During his career with the Fire Department, Mr. Feeley served as President of FMBA Local 10 and 210 for a combined total of seventeen years. As president he successfully negotiated numerous contracts and handled many disciplinary issues and grievances. His union experience has provided him with the unique ability to grasp and fully understand the issues that face public employees and the established practices of their employers. In 2008, Mr. Feeley was recognized as the "Labor Leader of the Year" by the City of Newark Fire Union.
