Diana counsels life sciences clients, ranging from multinational pharmaceutical companies to start-ups, in developing worldwide patent portfolio and prosecution strategies, as well as providing freedom to operate, invalidity and non-infringement opinions. Her experience in transactional matters includes evaluating third party in-licensing and acquisition opportunities, due diligence review, product and technology clearances, and licensing negotiations. Particular areas of expertise include development of patent strategies in connection with protein biologics and enabling technologies, drug design, discovery technologies, pharmaceuticals, formulations and drug delivery, production methods, diagnostics, and therapeutic product planning and life cycle management.
Diana has worked as an in-house patent attorney at a leading pharmaceutical company where she advised business and scientific teams on biotechnology patent and regulatory matters relating to Hatch-Waxman issues. During her time in industry, she developed and managed several large patent portfolios directed to products in clinical development, participated in negotiations and drafted intellectual property provisions of licensing agreements, and managed collaborations with several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
