Lisa Cole is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy and Regulatory and Government Affairs Departments, and a member of the Financial Institutions Practice Group and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Working Group. She joined the firm in 2002 and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ann C. Williams of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit from 2003 to 2004.
Practice
Ms. Cole's practice focuses primarily on advising clients regarding compliance with federal consumer protection laws and regulations. She has also represented public companies and financial institutions under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Department of Justice, and state attorneys general in a number of matters. Ms. Cole has represented clients in civil litigation as well, including litigation involving contract disputes, fraud claims and securities laws, among other issues.
Professional Activities
Ms. Cole is a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
