Cohen, Jennifer B.

Mr. Craig D. Ewan studied at Prospect College, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and graduated in 1988.  He attended college at the University of the District of Columbia and graduated in May of 1997 with a B.A. in Political Science. After graduating from the University of the District of Columbia, Mr. Ewan attended Catholic University of America School Of Law from 2000-2001 and graduated from Western New England College School of Law in 2003.

From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Ewan was the Assistant Clerk of Rockville Superior Court in Connecticut.  During this time he spent much of his time reviewing habeas corpus cases for Superior Court judges from inmates within Connecticut facilities, challenging their underline convictions on various grounds, such as ineffective assistance of counseling, court misconduct, and jury tampering. He was also reviewing other habeas corpus appeals to change conditions in the prison facility that inmates believed to be unfit.  Mr. Ewan ensured that these appeals were submitted and heard by the judges within the respective time frames.  He also ensured that motor vehicle cases were procedurally ready for the courts to rule on.

After his Assistant Clerk position, Mr. Ewan was employed at First Title & Escrow in Rockville, Maryland.  During this time he ensured that property title searches were accurate and other title issues were resolved before the applications were submitted to the underwriting department to be insured.

From 2005 2007, Mr. Ewan was employed at Wolpoff & Abrahamson, a collections law firm where he negotiated several thousand accounts with debtors to avoid litigation for clients. He also reviewed several thousand applications and accounts to ensure that his clients had merit to pursue certain delinquent accounts complying with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Acts (FDCPA) guidelines.

Mr. Ewan has worked on several cases doing research, analyzing legal issues and strategies, with other attorneys in the Maryland area.

Since barred in June 2009, he has represented clients concerning family, custody, child support, collections, felonies, contracts and torts.  He is now focusing his practice toward family law, some criminal and collections.
