Robin Barefoot received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1980) in English and continued her education at North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she was Articles Editor for the Law Journal, graduated fourth in her class, and received her Juris Doctor with honors (1985).
After four years of private practice in Durham and the research triangle park, Ms. Barefoot joined Investors Title Insurance Company in their corporate office in Chapel Hill as a staff title attorney. During the 7 years of her employment with the Company and for 9 additional years as a consultant, Ms. Barefoot has been a regular speaker and moderator for Company seminars and the author and editor of numerous articles and seminar materials on various real property and title insurance issues. Ms. Barefoot's practice is presently concentrated in the areas of estate planning and administration, business and contract law.
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Ms. Barefoot has been a Durham resident since 1981 and is an active community volunteer through the Speakers' Bureau of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, Meals on Wheels and the North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center.
