Jennifer Coghlan graduated from the New York University School of Law in 2003.
Jennifer's practice at SP&R includes representation of state and local governmental bodies, corporations and individuals in a wide variety of environmental litigation before federal, state, and local trial and appellate courts. In addition, she represents clients in administrative proceedings before the U.S. EPA, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the New York City Environmental Control Board.
Jennifer's has litigated cases under a variety of environmental statutes, including Superfund (CERCLA), RCRA, the New York State Navigation Law, the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Jennifer has worked with developers, consultants and engineers to successfully guide development sites through the environmental review process under SEQRA and NEPA and the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program. In addition, Jennifer has extensive experience in state, local and federal permitting and review processes, including those of the Army Corps of Engineers, NYSDEC, the New York State Office of General Services, the New York State Department of State and the City of New York.
During law school, Jennifer served as co-Editor-in-Chief of the New York University Environmental Law Journal. She interned for the Natural Resources Defense Council through the NYU Environmental Law Clinic and spent a summer working with Environmental Defense. In addition, before entering law school, Jennifer worked at Booz-Allen & Hamilton as an Information Specialist for EPA's RCRA, Superfund & EPCRA Hotline.
