One of the best decisions Dori ever made was turning down an internship opportunity at the White House. Why? It was the same summer Monica Lewinsky was there. (Enough said.)
You might say that Dori was destined to become an attorney. Lawyers run in her family and she began sharpening her skills as a persuasive advocate from the tender age of eight, giving her parents a run for their money. This led to mock trial competitions in high school long before she ever made it to law school. Then, when she watched some close family members go through the pain of divorce, she knew she wanted to concentrate on family law.
Once in college, one major wasn't enough for Dori. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in both Political Science and Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and she graduated cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. She's also published – in 2001, her article, “Is it Constitutional and Will it be Effective? An Analysis of Mandatory HIV Testing of Pregnant Women” appeared in Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine.
Dori met her husband while in Washington, but it turns out they had grown up just a few miles from each other in Chicago and even went to the same college. (Another example of destiny in Dori's life.) The day after she graduated from law school, the couple packed up and moved to Phoenix. As residents of Arizona, they appreciate no longer having to contend with cold weather and snow, and they have embraced the state's outdoor lifestyle. They like to run, hike, swim … and occasionally rescue basset hounds. Not that Dori has ever been a couch potato. She once danced at half-time during a Chicago Bears football game and is now training for her first half-marathon.
Dori also likes to raise funds for charities, and she sits on the board of directors for the American Heart Association. She is actively involved with “Go Red for Women”, is a volunteer speaker for the Arizona Center for Divorce Education, and serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Dori's practice includes all aspects of divorce, paternity or maternity, child custody/child support and post-decree matters. She has appeared before the Arizona Court of Appeals and is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Arizona, Maricopa County Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
She has even represented a few celebrities during her law career, but don't ask her to disclose their names. That would mean breaching attorney-client confidentiality. You will appreciate Dori's discretion and the fact that she is dedicated to learning what is most important to her clients, keeping them out of court whenever possible and focusing on the needs and desires of any children involved in her cases. And while her colleagues say she'll work painstakingly on your case, they also say she's personable and bubbly. What more could you ask for in a divorce lawyer?
