Gerald P. Cavellier is the head of the Domestic Relations/Family Law Section at Hertz Schram PC. He is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law (formerly known as the Detroit College of Law). His entire practice focuses on Family Law matters. Mr. Cavellier is a litigator at heart, but he is also trained in Mediation and is a member in good standing with the Family Mediation Counsel of Michigan. He is a past Chair of the Oakland County Family Law Committee, a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is currently a Professor of Law at Cooley Law School teaching Family Law. His practice involves all aspects of family law including Custody, Child Support, Parenting Time, Spousal Support, and Property Division. He is also very familiar with more complex issues including marital tort litigation, division of closely held businesses, alienation of children and interstate custody and support issues. Mr. Cavellier is that special type of lawyer who is capable of handling very personal, emotional matters, yet he knows when to zealously advocate or aggressively negotiate.
