Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1964, W.O. Birchfield brings over four decades of experience in eminent domain to the firm from representing private property owners to serving as special counsel for the Florida Department of Transportation and Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Mr. Birchfield's practice areas include eminent domain, land use, mediation and government relations. He and Bruce Humphrey formed Birchfield & Humphrey, P.A. in 2004.
He has served as Chairman of the University of Florida Law Center Association and has been active in many local civic orgnizations. He served four years in the Florida House of Representatives, eight years as a member of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and four years as a member of the Jacksonville Port Authority. He has been listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for the past ten years
