With 13 years of experience as a State Court judge and an assisting Superior Court judge and 21 years of experience as a practicing attorney, Roland’s perspective from both sides of the bench is beneficial to all clients. He has tried several hundred domestic and criminal cases before juries and judges and has presided as a judge over countless others. With his 34 years of combined legal experience, Roland’s time both on the bench and before it has shown him how to take a difficult case and make into what it wasn’t before – a winning case.
Roland Castellanos emigrated from Cuba to the United States as a child and has applied his belief in a system of justice, fairness, and the equality of all people through his 34 years of legal experience.
Roland’s work primarily involves domestic relations and criminal defense. His legal work is focused on protecting his clients and fighting for them to help them obtain what is lawfully theirs. Roland concentrates on representing those facing domestic troubles and the defense of those wrongfully charged with criminal offenses.
Roland was the first Hispanic judge in the State of Georgia and was appointed by Governor Roy E. Barnes. Thereafter, he was elected to the office for three additional terms. He is the first and only Hispanic to have served in Georgia as a Superior Court judge.
