Paul Carter gets things done.
After serving in the United States Navy under the command of Rodney A. Knutson, Paul obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in 1992. Paul then went on to earn a JD, with Honors, from Drake University Law School in 1995.
Paul is a seasoned litigator with a great amount of experience representing client interests in varying capacities.
Paul is a partner at Bergkvist, Bergkvist & Carter, LLP, a civil litigation firm where handles business, trust, real estate litigation and related bankruptcy actions, and personal injury matters.
Paul also serves as an administrative hearing officer for the City of Long Beach; a mediator / arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court; a mediator for the Court of Appeal; a Settlement Officer for the US District Court, Central District of California; a mediator / arbitrator for California Arts, Arbitration and Mediation Service through California Lawyers for the Arts; and a mediator for Resolvelitigation.com.
Paul is also very involved in his community. He is on the Executive Committee for the Ball / Hunt Inn of Court; is Chairman of the Long Beach Bar Association annual ski trip; on the Board of Trustees for St. Mary Medical Center; the Board of Trustees for the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, is Co-Chair of the St. Mary Medical Center Annual Charity Golf Tournament; is President elect of the CSUF Alumni Association; and serves as Judge Advocate of the Long Beach Yacht Club.
Paul is also involved in the political community. He has served in various capacities in Election Day Operations and attended the 2008 GOP Convention as an Alternate Delegate for John McCain. Recently Paul published Native Son: Richard Nixon's Southern California, a unique map biography of President Nixon's Southern California life.
Paul, wife Sandra, and their children live in Long Beach. For hobbies, Paul loves to play guitar, surf, golf and snowboard.
