Bob Carlson is Of Counsel to the firm of Kennedy & Graven, Chartered, and practices in the area of Business Law.
In 1966, Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Physics. He enrolled in the University of Iowa College of Law, graduating with distinction in 1973.
Bob began his law career at the Minnesota Attorney General's Office, where he concentrated on general litigation for one year, on employment law for two years, and on securities and other regulatory matters for the next two years. From 1978 to 1984, he was the general counsel to Loram, Inc., a railroad maintenance equipment company. He then worked as associate general counsel to Apache Corporation (formerly of Minneapolis, now of Houston), where he handled general corporate work. He joined the predecessor firm to Kennedy & Graven in 1986 as a shareholder and, since 1992, as Of Counsel.
Bob is highly regarded in the area of corporate and business law, including work for small businesses. He handles incorporations, sales of businesses, general corporate matters, contracts, confidentiality agreements, building leases, and employee benefits matters.
Among his many interests, Bob is an eclectic reader and enjoys playing golf and squash. He also has volunteered as a coach for his children's softball teams and is active in his church.
