Litigation
Joel Cantrick has represented clients in federal and state court litigation and administrative proceedings for over 38 years, with an emphasis in employment, environmental, and governmental and regulatory matters. Mr. Cantrick is licensed to practice in Colorado and Texas but currently is inactive in Texas.
Employment
In the employment arena, Joel represents companies and individuals in both litigation and non-litigation matters ranging from employment and separation agreements to employee handbooks to wrongful discharge, wage claim, breach of contract, and employment discrimination cases under federal and state laws.
Environmental/Energy
Joel's environmental and energy practice includes litigation and agency enforcement proceedings under federal and state statutes and regulations and advice to clients in a variety of environmental and energy matters, including, without limitation, real estate transactions, leaking underground storage tanks, environmental insurance coverage, mined land reclamation, solid waste, energy production, and environmental property damage.
Governmental/Regulatory
Having served as Solicitor General, first assistant attorney general of the Natural Resources Section, and an assistant attorney general in the Labor/Civil Rights Unit and the Litigation Section of the Colorado Attorney General's Office, and also as an assistant city attorney for Boulder, Colorado, Joel represents clients in a variety of federal, state, and local government administrative and regulatory proceedings and non-litigation matters.
