Robert S. Cardenas received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Memphis, graduating Magna Cum Laude, in 1997. Mr. Cardenas received his J.D. from the University of Memphis in 2000.
Before joining Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter, in April of 2007, Mr. Cardenas was a Partner/Shareholder with Pearson, Kurtz & Cardenas, P.C., prior to its merger with Selman Breitman in January of 2006, where Mr. Cardenas served as Of Counsel.
Mr. Cardenas hails from a strong defense background, having defended attorneys in legal malpractice actions, insurers in extra-contractual ("bad faith") matters and insureds in third-party matters. Mr. Cardenas has successfully completed several jury trials and has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in negotiations, settlement conferences, mediations and arbitrations.
Mr. Cardenas is currently a member of the State Bar of Nevada, American Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, and Nevada Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts in Nevada, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Cardenas was named a 2010 Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star. Mr. Cardenas was also named a Top 40 Under 40 lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers Association in August of 2012.
Mr. Cardenas lives in the Las Vegas area with his wife, Lisa, and their two children Riley Simone and Cameron Chase.
