Canter, Jacqueline H.

Robert R. Campbell has practiced law since 1956, having received his undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Tennessee. He served on active duty as an Army officer before admission to the Bar. He has been a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court since 1981. During his professional career he has served as president of the Knoxville Bar Association, chairman of the Tennessee Appellate Court Nominating Commission, chairman of the Tennessee Bar Foundation and is a life member of the 6th Circuit Judicial Conference. In 1989, he was honored as the first recipient of the Knoxville Bar Association's "Governor's Award" for distinguished service to the profession and to the community. He is an emeritus fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers and served as a member of the Board of Regents of the College (1993-1997). He is a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Tennessee Bar Foundation. He is an emeritus advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates and an emeritus member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the American Inns of Court, the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (1989-2012). Mr. Campbell has had a distinguished career as a trial attorney with his primary areas of trial practice being in products liability defense and commercial litigation. He was a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission from 1997 to 2002 and is extensively involved as a listed court-annexed mediator in federal court as well as in the state courts. Mr. Campbell is a member of the Complex Commercial Dispute Resolution Panel of the American Arbitration Association.
