Heather graduated from Hofstra University Law School in New York, where she was appointed Senior Editor of the Hofstra Law Review and received awards in for her work in Commercial Law and Intellectual Property. During law school, she worked in the legal departments of Forbes.com and Bloomberg, LP, specializing in corporate bankruptcy and new media advertising issues.
Heather began her legal career clerking at New York’s Second Department Appellate Division for Justice Joseph Covello. She gained great experience drafting opinions and memorandum for the Judge and learned how to successfully argue cases in front of the Court. This prompted her to concentrate her career on litigation so she would have the opportunity to regularly articulate her positions in front of a Judge. Her love of the courtroom plus her desire to help those in need ultimately led her to Bankruptcy Court.
Since joining Simon & Resnik, Heather has represented thousands of clients in Chapter 7 and 13 proceedings and regularly appears in court. She is known for her friendly and professional demeanor with clients, and is a strong and passionate advocate in court. To Heather, the best part of the job is when a client walks into her office feeling overwhelmed by their financial circumstance and then walks out of her office armed with a plan to save their home and a smile. Heather believes that humor connects us and tries to make each one of her clients laugh at least once, no matter what their financial situation.
Heather grew up in Boston and attended UCLA for her undergraduate degree. She plays the flute and loves all kinds of music, travel, and yes, the Boston Red Sox.
Heather is licensed in California and New York.
