Dean Calloway's practice focuses on complex and general commercial litigation. He has significant experience with trade secret and restrictive covenant actions, fiduciary litigation, automobile and warranty litigation, product liability claims, insurance coverage issues, government investigations, qui tam suits, and class actions. Dean also has extensive experience litigating consumer disputes and has acted as coordinating counsel in dozens of consumer actions. He has appeared as lead counsel before state and federal courts throughout the Southeast and before the American Arbitration Association and the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Dean has worked extensively on matters involving Cooper Tire & Rubber Company; Cummins; Experian Information Solutions; Friedman's Inc. of Savannah, Georgia; and General Motors Corporation. Among recent representations, Dean played a significant role in obtaining summary judgment on behalf of one of the nation's leading hospital operators in connection with a qui tam action filed pursuant to the federal False Claims Act, 31 U.S.C. §§ 3729, et seq., wherein a former hospital compliance officer alleged damages in excess of $70 million.
Dean has devoted a significant amount of time to charitable and bar activities in the Atlanta area and has represented dozens of clients in connection with Jones Day's pro bono efforts. Dean is also actively involved in attorney recruiting and trial skills training at Jones Day and regularly works with students at area law schools.
Dean is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and has been listed in Atlanta magazine as a "Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star."
