Jason maintains a general law practice with an emphasis on real estate, creditor/debtor matters, contract disputes and criminal defense, both as the public defender for the City of Wahpeton and in a privately retained capacity.
Jason grew up in Jamestown, North Dakota. He received a B.A. in political science and history from Jamestown College in 1994. Upon receiving his undergraduate degree, Jason moved to Arizona where he taught high school social studies for five years. Thereafter, Jason returned to North Dakota to attend the University of North Dakota School of Law, and he received his J.D. in 2003. While in law school, Jason spent two summers clerking for the Honorable Richard Grosz, Judge of the District Court in Wahpeton. Following law school, Jason joined Smith, Strege and Fredericksen as an associate attorney.
Jason, his wife, Janel, and their two boys reside in Breckenridge, Minnesota.
