Steven C. Burke is admitted to the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar Association, U.S. Courts District of Oregon and Western Washington. An active member of Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), Steve has practiced law in the Portland area since 2000, including eight years working as a sole practitioner before joining Case & Dusterhoff, LLP in 2010. Steve has experience dealing with complex litigation and unusual cases involving counterclaims, cross claims, third party claim practice, and intervenors. Steve has achieved exceptional results for clients using innovative strategies and negotiation tactics, and when appropriate, aggressive pursuit of claims to ensure clients' rights are preserved and protected. He has appeared in hundreds of court hearings in Oregon and Washington, in addition to twenty five trials (and counting), and dozens of administrative hearings.
Steve is comfortable both in and out of the courtroom, and has an advanced understanding of civil and administrative procedure. An avid volunteer, Steve has served on the Oregon State Bar Uniform Civil Jury Instruction Committee and is a current member of the Oregon Trial Lawyer's Association Legislative Committee. Steve served President, Secretary, and a Director of the Friends of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, a non-profit organization that benefits the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge in Sherwood, Oregon. Steven continues to provide legal guidance and advocacy assistance to the Friends of the Refuge. He is also the Washington County Chairman for the Oregon Democratic Lawyer’s Counsel, which serves to monitor and protect voting rights in elections. Steve is a devoted husband and doting father of a son and daughter. He is an avid guitarist, who has played professionally, and also enjoys woodworking, billiards, and horseback riding whenever he can.
