Mr. Brown prosecuted enforcement actions under various federal labor laws with the Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of Labor, Chicago, Illinois from 1972 until 1979. In 1979 he joined United Airlines, Inc. as a Trial Attorney, concentrating in employment litigation. He practiced in that capacity until 1985 when he joined the predecessor firm to Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd. Throughout his career, Mr. Brown's extensive litigation practice has been concentrated in labor relations areas, including wage and hour, discrimination in employment, wrongful discharge, occupational safety and health, and employee benefits. He has tried over one hundred and fifty cases throughout the United States before judges, juries, and administrative agencies and has argued numerous appeals before state and federal courts of appeal. He has lectured extensively in the areas of occupational safety and health, wage/hour compliance, wrongful discharge, and discrimination in employment. Mr. Brown also believes that prevention of labor problems is the best defense to lawsuits. Therefore, he has extensive experience counseling companies on relation practices.
Mr. Brown has been named one of the Leading Lawyers in Illinois, based on a statewide survey of lawyers. Leading Lawyers comprise less than 5% of all lawyers in the state. He also is a trained mediator.
