Arnold Brock, Jr., Esq.

Attorney at Law

Birthplace: Pineville, Kentucky, April 22, 1953

Nevada Residency: Reno, Nevada, 1976

Currently residing in Sparks

I attended California State College in Sacramento receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation, I moved to Reno, Nevada to attend the Nevada Highway Patrol Academy. After graduating from the Academy, I served as a Nevada State Trooper from 1976 to 1982.

As a State Trooper, I learned about life it in a hurry.  I personally investigated or assisted in the investigation of over 500 vehicle accidents ranging from serious multiple fatalities to minor fender-benders. I discovered how important it was to do a good job from a monetary standpoint and more importantly about the devastation and loss of life.

In 1982 while working as a State Trooper, I was accepted into the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. Initially I commuted to Sacramento, California weekly to attend classes. Once fully immersed in law school, I temporarily left Reno and my position as a Nevada State Trooper and moved to Sacramento to complete law school. I graduated from the McGeorge School of Law in 1985 with a Juris Doctorate Degree.

After graduating from law school, I returned to Reno, Nevada and was admitted to practice before the Nevada Bar, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals San Francisco, U.S. District Court District of Nevada, and the State of Nevada Supreme Court.

I practiced in a variety of areas of the law until I found my passion for trial work.  Something just made it more challenging and interesting for me. That something was my desire to see results for my clients. I want clients assured that I will provide them with personal care and attention along with vigorous and skilled advocacy.

In my 24 years as an attorney, I have been representing the rights of my clients with their litigation needs. The largest and certainly the most time consuming trial that I participated in was as defense counsel in the case of United States v. Baker, 10 F.3d 1374, (9th Cir. 1993).  It was a drug trial of magnanimous proportions encompassing eleven years of investigation and 16 months of trial. There were in excess of 250 witnesses and thousands of pieces of evidence. My client received a very favorable outcome.

I have experience at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and Nevada Supreme Court where I have had a great deal of success in representing clients rights.

In 1990, the Dean of the Criminal Justice Department of the Truckee Meadow's Community Collage asked me to teach in their Criminal Justice Program. Since that time, I have been teaching at TMCC and served as Coordinator for the Criminal Justice Department. Teaching has also become my passion. In addition to teaching at the Community College level, I have taught at the Police Academy. I enjoy seeing the success of my students; many of whom have gone on to become attorneys and legal professionals here in Nevada.

As an attorney and professor, I enjoy making a positive difference in my clients' and student's lives, as few other professions can.  As your attorney, you will find that I am readily accessible, straightforward, and honest.  My advice and my representation are based on over twenty-four year's experience, allowing both a realistic and astute understanding of your case.  I will make sure you understand your options and have clear expectations, so that you can make decisions that will have a lasting impact on your life.

It is also my firm belief that one should give back to their community and I have been doing so for years providing pro bono work for which I received recognition in 1997. In addition, I am a member and past president of Sparks Sertoma, a charitable organization providing for the speech and hearing impaired children of our community. I participate in an annual holiday dinner for seniors and do other fundraisers for the community. I have been everything from a chef at the holiday dinner to Santa Claus for the City of Reno's Santa Hotline. I have hosted a call-in program for Hispanic radio, answering legal questions for the Hispanic community. It is a necessity to give back that my family embraces and enjoys.
